March 21, 2012

On September 11th, 2001, New York City became the target of an act of terrorism, which sent two hijacked commercial airliners into the World Trade Center.  Our daughter, Jennifer Lynn Kane, age 26, was an employee of Marsh & McLennan working on the 100th floor of the north tower.  Jennifer was a 1997 graduate of the College of Commerce and Finance at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.  She was a Certified Public Accountant who was genuinely admired as a committed employee, mentor, and loving family oriented person.  Jennifer touched many lives in very different ways.

100% of all donations to the Jennifer Kane Scholarship & Charitable Trust during 2012 will be donated in Jen’s memory to the causes listed below.

Homes For Our Troops is a non-profit organization that provides specially adapted homes at no cost for severely wounded military members.  Proceeds will be donated toward construction of a new home with handicapped accessibility for Marine LCpl Paul Schaus who was on his second tour in Afghanistan when he was catastrophically injured.  For more information visit www.homesforourtroops.org or call Tom Benoit at (508) 823-3300.

Plymouth Old Colony YMCA.  Proceeds will increase the “Jennifer Kane Endowed Campership Fund” to pay for needy children to attend Camp Clark where Jen was a lifeguard and camp counselor.  For more information about the Old Colony YMCA visit www.oldcolonyymca.org or call Mr. Adam King at (508) 888-2290.
